IN THE FUTURE:
Recently I’ve been busking outside the Eventim Apollo in West London. I’ve found a nice spot under the bridge, right in front of the concert hall. The original idea was to do it just twice on the days of Olafur Arnalds’s performances. I still have the (perhaps misguiged) idea that people who like Olafur would like my work too. Those two busking sessions went so well that I decided to do it as often as possible, especially if there’s an interesting artist appearing at the Apollo. So far, I’ve entertained the audiences of Olafur Arnalds, Doug Stanhope, and Louis C.K. on their way into the hall. It’s a slightly mischievous approach to the art of busking – doing it on the back of famous people’s performances – but I’ve put in a lot of thought into it and I don’t see anything wrong.
Over the summer, I performed regularly at this spot in Bishops Park, Fulham. These performances were somewhat spontaneous, so it was difficult to announce them in advance. Weather permitting, I’ll continue to play there as often as possible. I hope to see some of you there in the near future and please stay tuned for more live dates elsewhere.
